Should The Democrat Party Change Their Name? by Lance Winslow

It is important for every political party wherever they might be throughout the world to have strong branding. If they don't brand themselves correctly they are less likely to spread that net out large enough to encompass the most number of people. I'd like to take a look at the Democrat party in the United States of America. They claim to be the party of change and hope, although if they really wanted to change, they might first change their branding and rebrand themselves exactly what they are. Indeed, the other day I jokingly told a friend running for a high Democrat Office that in my opinion he might tell his local Democrat Committee to change it to something like the destroyers due to the joblessness and economy.

Now then, every high school football team has a mascot, and a name to help everyone on the team get on board. It doesn't seem like the donkey should be synonymous with Democrats. I mean the way I see it, it doesn't make sense for a jackass to be the symbol of your party, of course, whatever floats your boat? It's just I wouldn't want that as my symbol or what I stood for. After all they aren't actually donkeys, they are humans!

After my Democrat friend and I had a round of high-charged political barbs and laughing the whole way, I once again told him that; "It appears to me that a more descriptive name might be; The Destroyers!" He just laughed and reminded me of big business, Wall Street, and various previous wars our nation had had.

So, I asked him to just take a gander at our healthcare system, our educational system, our welfare system; Social Security, Medicare, and other social programs that the Democrats have been in charge of. Look at Freddie and Fannie and how that was an enabler of the 2008 real estate crash? I told him to look at the programs they've instituted, and run, and legislated into existence and how many of them have imploded due to the law of unintended consequences. He assured me all of those programs were needed for the common good.

"Well, if the Democrats actually believe it is in the best interest of Americans to have programs they start fail, then shouldn't they be honest with themselves and change their name? It would be more descriptive, it would help all the voters know exactly what they're voting for when they vote for someone in the destroyer party" I explained.

Then as we sat in the coffee shop I noted that people were gathering up on both sides of the debate and my Democrat friend went into a monologue about all the things wrong with the Republican Party, and several of those listening on that side of the fence asked; "yah, what about all that?"

Now you might be angry with my observations here, but you cannot deny what I'm saying if we look at history. It's up to all Democrats to understand the truth and understand what their policies are doing. I was of course read the "riot act" after I made my closing arguments, no wonder Washington DC can't get along - most Americans can't either. Please consider all this and think on it.
